一要去尘。名人字画收藏前，好掸去名人字画表面的灰尘，防止把灰尘卷进名人字画，也要防止轴头中引起发霉或污染和虫蛀。对于绢本的名人字画尤应注意，灰尘落在绢缝里，一定要耐心把它，否则一遇潮气，名人字画的寿命就会缩短。此外，灰尘中潜伏着人眼看不到的虫卵，在温、湿度适宜时就变成成虫，日后便会蛀咬名人字画。因此，名人字画不应该一挂数年，因为挂的过程，就是缓慢风化、变质、褪色和损伤的过程。

One needs to remove dust. Before collecting celebrity calligraphy and paintings, it is important to dust off the surface of the paintings to prevent dust from getting sucked into them, as well as to prevent mold, pollution, and insect infestation in the shaft. Special attention should be paid to famous calligraphy and paintings on silk. 二要密封。收藏名人字画者好能把名人字画用牛皮纸包裹好放入密封性能好的箱子或柜子里，同时在箱角处放上樟脑块等驱虫用品，以防虫蛀。再放入吸水性能好的土纸，则可保名人字画安然无恙，延长名人字画寿命。

三要防潮。夏季，天气比较潮湿，收藏名人字画的藏友要更加注意这一点。潮湿一是要选择不潮湿的墙壁张挂，并要在室内避开有水蒸气的地方，预防平时的湿气附在名人字画上；二是当雨季到来之前，应暂时将裸露的名人字画收藏起来，梅雨季过后，及时选晴朗、干燥的天气，将名人字画逐一展开或张挂，以便在通风中驱散潮气。

四要避光。因名人字画一般都以纸、绢等为载体，阳光中的紫外线会使纸、绢的纤维变质以致泛黄、褪色、发脆，造成名人字画的损坏，从而缩短名人字画的寿命。所以，名人字画应放置于避光、阴凉、干燥和清洁的地方妥善保管。
